In 2015, we got engaged in Belize and loved doing a trip that merged lazy tropical days on a quaint island (Ambergris Caye) with ancient Mayan Ruins (Xunatunich, Pilar, Cahal Pech).  

 

Honduras offers many of the same delights.  You've got the Mayan Ruins of Copan in the west and Roatan and Utila off the coast (both are known as "hot spots" for cruise ships).   

 

Our motto for this trip is "Celebrate, Explore, Chill" with good reason.  Like many of our friends, we both have "done" the whole formal wedding thing the first time around (and really, I mean, look how that turned out!).  We spent a lot of money, and dealt with a lot of stress, ultimately to please a lot of OTHER people.  At the end of the day, all we really had were some albums full of posed pictures that we barely remember taking.

 

So this time we're doing it right.  It's about us...a celebration of our love for each other, for travel, for beautiful sunsets, warm waters, close friends, and making memories to last a lifetime.  I guarantee if you come with us, when you are 90 and wearing diapers, you will remember this trip fondly.
